The heart of the home is the kitchen, no question about it. The kitchen is the place where families gather to cook family recipes, enjoy homemade meals, and reconnect with one another after a long day. During the holidays, the kitchen is also the busiest place in the house which is why it is essential to make sure nothing is left unattended while stoves, ovens, and microwaves are on.

To prevent a fire in your home turning your house into an inferno…

1. Keep all oven mitts, pot holders, aprons, and kitchen towels away from heat sources.

2. Pull hair back when cooking to keep from catching on fire and falling into food.

3. Never leave food unattended when cooking or baking.

Keep your family and home safe this holiday season and make sure to have a watchful eye on everything that goes on in the kitchen.
